“You know you are on the road to success if you would do your job, and not be paid for it.” – Oprah Winfrey1

It is no surprise to learn that you will do a much better job in your business and make more money if you are in love with what you are doing. Energy for your business is fueled by the passion and power you feel when you are waking up every day doing what excites you. When dreaming of the business you want to start, it is important to only focus on the ideas that don’t seem like work. What types of business ideas do you have that you would enjoy and be obsessed with? When you can decide on this, you are able to move your business idea out of the “dream stage” into the real start-up stage where “doing” becomes the daily course of action.

Every single person is born with different talents and have different gifts. Everyone has things they are skilled at doing and we all find ourselves to be extremely passionate about something in our lives, whether we have ever done it at work before or not. If you have been a career project manager or architect for instance, you may find that you are bored with what you do and your daily routine has become just that: a routine. Maybe your passion lies in the kitchen creating delectable meals and treats for your family and friends. Or perhaps you find yourself taking charge of every wedding or major event that you are a part of. No matter what it is, you should be excited when you wake up in the mornings about the day you are going to have and your sense of purpose.

When you are able to make money and have fun at the same time, your business will flourish and become the success you envision! Use the talents, gifts, and skills you have that is an extension of you and who you want to be in order to unveil the work potential you have in a business you will love. Discovering and sharing your unique talents and gifts is important, and then you will succeed by offering them to the world. Sometimes, if you are having difficulty identifying your strongest traits, ask the people that spend the most time with you and know you best to figure out what they are.

After you have decided what you want to focus on for your business startup, you need to get over the fear of taking action and start spending time on the next step. Verify your ideas are going to be viable, long-lasting, and profitable. Use polls, group sessions, comments, forums, and more to find out from people that would fit your ‘ideal’ clientele to get their feedback about your idea. What do they like and dislike about it? How would they make it more appealing? Would they be willing to pay you for your product or service? After getting these results, tweak your business plan to accommodate the needs and wishes of your targeted market audience to optimize your potential for growth and ultimate success!
